The Claiborne at Hattiesburg (previously known as Whispering Pines) was a two-phase development. The first phase consisted assisted living and memory care facility plus twelve (12) cottages which opened fall 2014. The second phase began construction in March of 2014 and is a one hundred thirty-two (132) unit independent living facility which opened fall 2015. The first phase was financed by BancorpSouth originally and replaced with a Fannie Mae loan in December of 2017, and the second phase was financed by Trustmark National Bank. As a third phase, land was also sold adjacent to this property for a third party to build a nursing home.
