The America Building is a staple in downtown Hattiesburg. Originally built in 1907, the America Building has been known by many different names in it’s 100-year history—The Ross Building, Royal St. Andre Hotel. Most notably, the building was the home to the famous Hub City sign. It was erected on the roof in 1912 to promote Hattiesburg as the central city intersecting railroads which is where the nickname “The Hub City” was born. The buildling houses Hub City Lofts”.
